So the other day I got a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on a new Schecter Damien Elite 7 and today she has arrived via FedEx.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Haven't had time to do anything other than snap a few quick pics, but I'll be sure to get some good playing time in tonight. I've never played a 7-string before so I'm interested to see how easy/difficult it will be to get used to the wider neck. I've also never owned anything equipped with a Floyd Rose, so I've been watching YouTube videos to learn how to restring, adjust, tune, etc.

I rebuilt a Floyd Rose for a friend's fiancee, gosh, two and a half years ago. They're nifty little beasties, but you have to take care of them. Parts are available everywhere, but losing them sucks.
With the bolt-on neck and the EMGs, you're going for a lot of distortion possible, a lot of brightness, and nothing even remotely earthy or greasy, I'd wager - but I could be wrong. I don't know the wood in use, but that finish is light enough to not add any weight.

Thanks! I'd complain about that fact that left-handed guitars usually only come in one color, but this one looks so good I don't mind.

That is a screaming deal! I thought I did good finding a lefty American Std. Strat for $550 (used) with the hard case. Its a gorgeous finish too!

She's a beaut, I love the color. I, by default, call it Black Cherry, what is it technically? I was once looking for guitars in that Black Cherry, possibly a Burst, with black hardware. I love that combo. A particularly nice find.

Yeah, I like to play bluesy stuff and metal/rockish stuff. I have an Epi Les Paul Standard that I'll use when I feel bluesy now and save this guy for the other stuff. The body is mahogany with maple top, neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard.
I've also got a Strat that was my first guitar about 20 years ago. My next project is going to be completely gutting the electronics and putting in all new pups, pots, switch, jack and machine heads.

I play bass, and I prefer my 4 strings. I tried to play a 6 string once, the neck is too wide. The thickest I like is 5 strings.

What I really want one of these days (other than a Tele) is a surf guitar. Something like a Mosrite or a similar spectacle, maybe with lipstick pickups (though that's negotiable). Metal-wise, my taste would be to get something V in an ash or pine variant and single coils - bright and screamy, and visual ridiculosity. My current guitar is an Epi SG (G-400) with two soap bars and a tapped humbucker - which still sounds somewhat dark and muddy because it's painted in thick urethane and is one large lump of mahogany. Whatevs, I like it.

I'm currently sitting at 3, which is kind of sad. The SG, a Yamaha Guitalele, and a Fender Classic Vibe 50s PB. Which I need to get ashtrays for, badly, and a more proper amp. Of course, my sister has a Dean steel-string I can borrow as-needed (another missing category), but that's not quite the same as having one's own - sadly Ovations are expensive as all hell.

Awesome find! Damiens are sweet axes; so metal. I was actually eyeballing a Damien Special in the same color the other day. No FR though, so it was the Amazon special which was $240 new. They were trying to offload it used for $230 lol. On the FR, my Jackson had one and it was a BITCH to tune. Once you get it right and lock the nuts though it stays for a good long while. Completely worth it though; FRs are awesomesauce

Got an Epiphone Wildkat with low mileage and a slight hum in the volume pot. Antique Natural, Bigsby vibrato, impeccable finish :)
